Hiro, people are dead and I don't want to hear about how your hamburger was abducted by aliens.
A while ago, a friend of mine asked what would happen if the Trigger Happy Havoc survivors ended up staying in a place that only had one bed. Here's my answer:
Obviously, as the heir to his family’s empire, Togami is entitled to the bed. He attempts to shoo the peasants out of the room.
“Hey, you can’t just take the bed!” Asahina objects.
“Naegi,” Togami says, “explain to these idiots why I will be sleeping in the bed.”
Naegi hesitates. “I - I mean, I’m okay sleeping on the floor, but... the bed’s big enough for two people, right? Maybe that’d make more sense than just one person?”
“Ridiculous,” Togami says. “The floor is certainly large enough for all five of you.”
“I’d be h-happy just to sleep at your feet, Master,” Fukawa mumbles: a declaration that everyone, by silent consensus, pretends not to hear.
“I suggest we decide this with a game of shogi, Togami-kun,” Kirigiri says. “If you win, you can have the bed to yourself. If you lose, I will take the bed, with another person of my choice.”
“I won’t lose,” Togami says. “You might as well accept my victory now.”
Kirigiri raises an eyebrow. “You don’t accept my challenge?”
Togami folds his arms. “Of course I accept it. I’m just informing you that it’s a waste of time.”
The shogi set is in an adjoining room, and Naegi follows them to watch the game. A part of him is nervous: what if Kirigiri chooses him to share the bed with her?
It’s stupid to think about this, right? She’ll choose one of the girls. Asahina, probably.
Kirigiri wins the game, and Naegi half holds his breath, waiting to find out who she’ll be sharing with. If she names him, maybe he’ll just give his place up to Asahina; he’s not sure he’d be able to take the stress of lying in the same bed as Kirigiri.
He never learns what her plan was. They return to the bedroom to find Hagakure sprawled across the entire bed, snoring loudly.
